Futebol dá FORÇA's leadership training & certification Part 3:
Football Coaching Training Module 1
1. Football coaching
This video is an introduction to the last part of the Futebol dá força Leadership Training: Football Coaching Training, where we focus on giving you as a leader knowledge and tools for developing football players in a positive and enabling learning environment. Our Football Coaching Training is based on FIFA:s basic coaching training methodology. In this video we go through our five foundational guidelines for football coaches, that aim for you as a coach to create a safe place for your players - on the football field, in the team, during training and further in life.
2. Development of children and young people
Children are not small adults, children are children, and as a coach it is important that you take into account and adapt training, planning and your approach from the child's perspective. In this video we give you more knowledge and understanding around the development process of children and young people.
3. Chronological & Biological Age
All players are individuals with differences. The development of children and young people is not linear and does not happen at the same pace for everyone. Quite on the contrary, players' physical, mental and social development often takes place at a different pace among the players in your team. Therefore we need to look at a more comprehensive way of looking at your players' age and development, taking both chronological and biological age into account. Learn more about chronological and biological age, and what you need to think about as a football coach, in this video.
4. Leadership & Development
In this video, we will give you knowledge and tools to create conditions for the player to develop.
5. Leadership & Learning
In this video, we will give you knowledge and tools to create opportunities for the player to learn.
6. Leadership & Motivation
In this video, we will give you knowledge and tools to create conditions to motivate your players.
7. Leadership & Football Activities
To get more practical, we will in this video give examples of concrete actions, questions and exercises that you as a coach can use before, during and after training to create an environment for development, learning and motivation: examples of how to apply this leadership in practice and adopt effective leadership behaviours.
8. Leadership Behaviors to Avoid
It's really important to know what to do - but just as important to know what you should not do. There are some leadership behaviors to be aware of and frankly, to avoid. Leaders' behavior can have negative consequences in the long run. What can be worth noticing, a complex thing about this, is that many behaviors that have a long-term negative effect can actually be experienced as having a short-term positive effect. It can then be tempting for leaders to fall for the short-term positive effect. But let's not do that! In this video, we address three unwanted behaviors to avoid; too much praise for successful actions, permanent leveling and punishments.
Take a few minutes to reflect around your leadership as a football coach, and what you bring with you from this module into your role as a coach. Bring your reflection to the first certification session.
